Arizona Theatre Company outdid themselves last year with Pulitzer Prize-winning August Wilson’s Fences. It’s an uncommonly good play by a writer who was determined to distill the African-American experience in the 20th century, represented by a play for each decade. When it’s entrusted to good hands, the story goes straight to the heart. Every aspect of ATC’s production was top-notch, and this product of dramatic literature and professional theater-makers is still ricocheting its depth and beauty throughout our valley.
