    Re: “Failed State
Thanks for the superb article. Clearly legislators to who consistently disregard their oath to uphold the Constitution must not be returned to any government office. And thanks for the addition of the LD 26 names.

Arizona voters are FOR the health and education of our children, as evidenced by their overwhelming approval of Prop 203 which initiated First Things First, the Early Childhood Development and Health initiative. The tobacco tax created by this initiative fills in for the critical first years before the constitutional K-12 responsibility of the legislature. But now a majority of legislators have voted to ask voters to destroy First Things First (FTF) while keeping the self-imposed tax for the general fund, not even earmarking it for children's needs. The operational motto here: Don't raise taxes, just steal them - from the mouths of babes! Votes to ask the voters to cancel FTF should be counted among the anti-education votes.

We can do better. Andrea Dalessandro, candidate for the House in LD 30,is a CPA who has been a professor of accounting at Rutgers, a high school math teacher, and student of Arizona law and finances. She stands ready to give logical and sound representation to all, and address the fiscal challenges of today while returning to investments in our children - the "human capital" of tomorrow. There are also two highly qualified candidates for Superintendent of Schools - dedicated educators who will face each other in the Democratic primary.

Thanks for the informative and constructive article. May fiscal and constitutional responsibility prevail.
