Special Issue Corner

Let's update a couple of things ...

· Yum! is here. The summer incarnation of our twice-a-year dining guide can be found in the middle of this here newspaper. (Or if you're reading online, meander on over to yum.tucsonweekly.com.) It's a good guide; it has five interesting features, spotlighting Arizona wineries, eegee's, Rod's K.C. Barbeque, late-night eating and the best of ethnic markets. But to me, one of the coolest Yum! features is our entire Chow Scan guide, from A to Z. The interns, Michael and Sarah, just updated all of the information, and it's the most comprehensive and exclusive guide to Tucson restaurants that I know of--a restaurant can't get into Chow Scan unless it's gotten a favorable review from the Weekly. Like the rest of our editorial content, it has nothing to do with advertising. I recommend putting a copy of Yum! in your car, to use when you're driving around, debating a place to eat.

Also, on our Yum! Web site, you'll be able to peruse the PDF menus of Yum! advertisers, which is a cool thing that our ad and Web folks set up. Again, that can be found at yum.tucsonweekly.com.

· Believe it or not, we're all already hard at work on Best of Tucson® 19, slated to hit the streets Sept. 29. The ballots are counted (and the results are top secret until the issue hits the streets and the Internet, so don't even ask), and we're busy putting all the pieces together.

In the meantime ... enjoy Yum! and this week's issue.
