I can’t really say that I was able to follow just what in the heck was going on in this movie, but I’ll give it my best shot: Three monkeys get blasted off into space and wind up on a planet with poorly drawn aliens. And … that’s about it. Along the way, there’s a joke about poo-throwing and even a dick-size joke, which just goes to show you that G-rated movies ain’t like they used to be. Andy Samberg, hot off the box-office smash Hot Rod (note the sarcasm) lends his voice to Ham III, a circus performer and relative of past chimp cosmonauts. He joins the space program, cracks wise and finds all sorts of ways to waste your valuable time. I looked around at parents who brought their kids to this thing, and they looked like they were at death’s door, praying for their kids to need a bathroom break so they could get some respite from the horror. The producers should be ashamed of themselves, and should not leave their houses for at least six months.
