This film is unbearable, as it slaps the viewer in the face with every sports-related redemption-story cliché. Lucas Black plays Luke Chisholm, a golfer who had a disastrous professional debut. After his meltdown on the links, Luke runs away and finds himself stranded in Utopia, Texas, after his car breaks down. The first person he meets is Johnny Crawford (Robert Duvall)—who just so happens to be a former pro golfer. The viewer is asked to suspend disbelief, making the film an ultimate eye-rolling experience. In the end, Seven Days in Utopia resorts to a cheap gimmick to get people to pay attention. Avoid this dull, uninspired piece of garbage like the plague.
