Saguaro National Park East

Volunteer Walter Coe leads an exploration into the prehistory of the Tucson area at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 12. Take a stroll through a new forest of giant saguaros at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 12. A two-hour walk through the desert at night takes place at 7 p.m., Friday, March 13. Reservations are required. Naturalists Vicki Powers and Ralph Terry lead a two-hour walk in search of desert birds at 8 a.m., Friday, March 13. Learn how to identify desert plants and discuss how desert plants were used in traditional medicines at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 17. Park Ranger Christina Heupel leads a geological caravan and discusses how geology impacts living creatures at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 18. Events are free with park admission: $10 per vehicle; $5 for pedestrians. Call for reservations or more information.
