Re: “Danehy

Well, Tom, if you don't understand maybe you should review the public court file, a transcript of the expert testimony or maybe have a talk with one or more of the jurors or attorneys. That would skew painfully toward actual journalism for you though, huh? Better yet to throw out some more ill-informed cranky opinions. It's easier than thinking. And a lot easier than journalism.

Re: “Danehy

I gotta say that it isn't just the legislature. Sure, they're a bunch of neanderthal goons that couldn't pass a GED exam. But its the parent apathy that I really don't understand.

I'm on the PTA and Site Council for my kids' school. At our PTA meetings, the same five people show up every meeting. And how long has it been since TUSD passed a budget override?

And so next year, my kids will be going to charter schools. Why? Not because I don't believe in public education. But because I can't, as a responsible parent, keep them in schools that suffer twenty percent budget cuts every year. And the primary responsibility for that goes right to the parents.

Sure they want to blame the legislature. But they're political animals. Demand they do something and they'll do it. That's the only way to get them to do hard work. Express your apathy and you get what we have. Schools without books. Kids without teachers. And PTAs without parents.

Re: “Just Call It Kiddie Crack

I think people who worry about Build-a-Bear out of all the things to worry about in the world have far too much time on their hands.
