Re: “A Needed Prescription

Representative McSally was one of the last signatories into the newly formed "problem solvers caucus". She's been making the media rounds in the last week singing political kumbaya, but in those appearances, the problems she seems intent on "solving" include scaling back the the coverage requirements for small businesses from 50 employees to 500, and messing with tax credits for medical equipment. Those don't sound like market-stabilizing ideas to me. Arizonans will not be fooled. She's on record. She voted to take healthcare away from 24 million people.

I expect a more thorough quality of journalism here, and agree with Dennis's sentiments. I'm disappointed with this piece. We cannot take our elected officials at their word. If we could, we wouldn't need the Weekly.

Because of course John Huppenthal would comment...that's what racist-fallen-elected-official-internet-trolls do.

Re: “The Irony Of a Political Automaton Asking Why Other People Don't Have Souls

He has done no work for this community. Commendably he has served in the military, but as far as Tucson goes, he only came to and from town when it was politically advantageous.

Re: “CD8: Who Is Behind Jesse Kelly's Makeover?

Come on Southern Arizona, we're not this dumb. We can't let Jesse Kelly bully his way into office. He's like a mini, more extreme Romney. Say whatever you have to say to get elected.

Re: “State Sen. Paula Aboud To Announce Congressional District 2 Campaign

It will be interesting to see if Barber decides to run for CD2. Paula Aboud is great and certainly has my support going forward.

Re: “Going After Grijalva: Raul Faces Primary Challenge

As a matter of fact he DOES represent the majority of those in his district quite well, hence his continuous re-election. He's a man with principle. What lobbyists control his vote? The answer is none. While mining companies have tried to get their hands on our beautiful Grand Canyon for years, he has continuously fought them off. Never has he spoken of an opponent in some passive agressive 'tea party' tone.....Oh and did you mean "senior" or Señor? If you're going to tell it, spell it.

Re: “Political Roundtable: Mitt Vs. Newt in AZ, Grijalva Vs. Sheriff Joe & A Talk With New Mayor Jonathan Rothschild

If you don't know how to spell 'austerity', you should refrain from suggesting it be instituted. Cutting social and entitlement programs, simply so the government can continue to borrow money and waste billions in the bureaucracy that is the pentagon is not the answer. Cutting government waste can be a good thing, but the definition of 'waste' is in the eye of the holder.
