Return to Never Land

If it looks and sounds like Disney, that doesn't mean that it necessarily is the typical fantastic Disney fare we all know. Case in point: this watered-down sequel to the 1953 animated original, in which Wendy is all grown up and passing down the magical Peter Pan legacy to her dreamy-eyed son and practical daughter. The skeptical daughter gets a crash course on faith, trust, and pixie dust when the villainous Captain Hook kidnaps her as part of his despicable plot to rid Never Land of our heroic Pan. The memorable songs are missing and that high-octane, brightly-colored Disney quality is stuck in neutral, but the classic characters, the conspicuous morals and the mild-mannered adventure allows the Mouse House to squeak by this time with a decent flick for the kids.
