Every week Tucson Weekly readers are entertained by Tucson artist David Kish's whimsical and satirical comic Hoopleville, and through Jan. 15, you can see that side of the artist and more through his cardboard sculpture. His show, "Recycled Landscapes: Cardboard Sculpture," at UA Downtown, 44 N. Stone Ave. UAD houses extensions of the College of Architecture and Landscape Architecture, and the College of Social and Behavioral Science. In the spirit of inventive holiday window displays, 20 new cardboard sculptures are displayed in the storefront windows of UAD's historic Roy Place building. Made entirely from found cardboard and used product packaging, which Kish scoops from the alleys and parking lots of central Tucson, the show includes a 10-foot-long panorama of the Old Pueblo, as well as the piece "Interplanetary Picnic," which recently won an Honorable Mention at the UA's of Planetary Science exhibit.
