Pride in the Desert Festival

Kids' activities, vendors, music, food, beverages and a wide range of entertainment are featured from noon to 8:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 12, in celebration of Pride Week. Activist Stuart Milk, nephew of Harvey Milk, is Grand Marshall of the event. Kids' activities include a rock wall, spider bungee, a three-piece inflatable obstacle course and two jumping castles and a Disney-face painter; $2 donations. Half the funds from the play space go to the Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation. Entertainment includes Ru Paul Drag Race All Stars, Sister Navi Ho, and hostess Tempest DuJour, among other popular Divas, and appearances by the King and Queen of Pride, Romeo White and Intensity D'Vouge. Live music is provided by the Rowdy Johnson Band, Bobby Jo Valentine, Roll Acosta and DJ Kravus. Visit tucsonpride.org for more information.
