Stroller, LOLer

Rincon Beat

Nov. 6, 8:07 p.m.

A woman discovered her baby stroller missing and presumed it stolen by her estranged baby's father—especially after the father wrote a Facebook post showing off about owning a new stroller, a PCSD report stated.

The reportee told deputies that two days ago, her ex-boyfriend—the father of her baby (with whom she apparently shared custody)—had come to her house to "drop some stuff off."

The next day, she said, she noticed her jogging stroller was missing; immediately suspecting her ex of taking it, she called him and he denied involvement—but just hours later posted on Facebook: "Just went jogging with my new stroller."

When a deputy contacted the ex, he insisted he hadn't taken it. Answering the deputy's query about "the deal with the Facebook posting," he simply said he'd gotten carried away in his fight with the reportee and had mistakenly "slumped to her level and was being immature" with the Facebook post—i.e., writing a false post to mess with her.

He said she kept the stroller in the backyard, so anyone could've taken it; the timing of its disappearance must've been a coincidence.

Since he hadn't included any photos in his Facebook post, and the reportee had no other evidence against him, the case of the stolen stroller remained unsolved at the time of the report.
