Police Dispatch

MARCH 26, 12:13 A.M.

A tough-talking trespasser was arrested after he tried to bum a cigarette from a woman whose property he was barred from, a Pima County Sheriff's Department report said.

The woman told deputies that a man whom she knew vaguely through a friend had that day knocked on her door requesting a smoke, despite a court order barring him from the property because of previous harassment.

The woman said she told the man that she didn't have a cigarette, that he must leave and that she was calling 911. At that point, the man yelled "You're a fucking cunt! You're going to pay for this the rest of the day!"

The woman told deputies the man then left and headed in the direction of a laundromat that he favored as a hangout.

The man, described as in his early 50s, had indeed gone to the laundromat, where deputies found him pouring a beer into a Circle K soda cup. The man acknowledged his identity, set his beer on a bench and allowed himself to be handcuffed. A search of the fanny pack he wore turned up condoms, gum, a large amount of change, two $1 bills, antibacterial wipes and a used syringe.

He was arrested on suspicion of criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct.

APRIL 12, 7:36 P.M.

A macho-type male sporting a "wife beater" T-shirt allegedly assaulted a college student who was enrolled in a dance class, according to a University of Arizona Police Department report.

The student said he was outside the Meinel Optical Sciences Building, 1630 E. University Blvd., when a man came up to him and punched him hard in an arm while yelling "Hey, bro!" The student said the man then walked away laughing.

The student had reported a nearly identical incident the week before, with the same man yelling "Hey, bro!" while hitting his arm. Another student confirmed the earlier incident and said the man did some fist-pumping as he laughed.

At the time of the report, the assailant had not been identified. The student who said he was assaulted surmised that the man targeted him because he was taking a dance course and his laptop had a sticker that read "DANCE."

The student said he wanted the man who hit him prosecuted.
