Fright Night At Foothills Mall

Ina Road and La Cholla Boulevard, Feb. 10, 10:39 p.m.

Foothills Mall was the site of a giant puke fest, with a handful of drunken teenagers upchucking in its theater and the food court, according to a Pima County Sheriff's Department report.

Staff at a restaurant summoned authorities to deal with a boy who was throwing up and breaking things.

Upon arrival, one deputy first noticed a "15 year old teenager ... on the sidewalk in a prone position." The teen's name was blacked out, ostensibly because he's a minor. He was laying next to a puddle of vomit, according to another deputy.

The teen was reportedly talking to a security guard, and a deputy thought it seemed obvious that he was hammered.

"His speech was slurred, he was disoriented, he could not get up, and the odor of alcohol emanated from him," a deputy noted. Restaurant staff said the boy had vomited in their establishment.

The teenager semi-coherently apologized over and over and said he realized his error, according to a deputy. Paramedics transported him to Northwest Medical Center, because his chin was cut.

"In the meantime, we became aware there were several other juveniles in the theater that were probably drunk and were vomited (sic) in the theater as well," one deputy's report continued.

Then, that deputy said, he heard the restaurant manager relaying the story of his encounter with the 15-year-old boy. The teen had been in the restaurant for less than one minute, had "staggered into some items" and attempted to go behind the bar, the manager reportedly said.

"He ultimately vomited in the restaurant before being escorted out," a deputy said.

One of the other three teens reportedly told a deputy what he had done while waiting for his father to arrive. He said he and his friends had run into "some other people" at the mall, one of whom had a bottle of vodka. He drank some and then went to a movie. At least one deputy noted vomit inside the theater.

Yet another of the teens begged deputies not to call his father, claiming he would "cut his dick off, cut his balls off, you don't know what you're doin' if you call my father, please do not call my father," the report said.

It was not clear from the report who was charged with what, but it appeared the three boys who weren't hospitalized were arrested for alcohol-related offenses. Authorities released them to their parents.
