According to a Pima County Sheriff's Department report, two apartment-complex tenants got into a fight after one of the tenants confronted the woman who lives above her--because she allegedly throws bloody tampons out the window and makes loud noises.
The tenant told Deputy Robert R. Murray that she went upstairs because the woman who lives above her, Barbara Butela, 51, had been making a lot of noise that day and had disturbed her baby's sleep. Butela then allegedly slapped the tenant in the face and said she only made noise to combat the noise made by the woman downstairs, the report stated.
When police spoke with Butela, she admitted tapping the woman on the face, but denied ever throwing garbage out of her window. Butela said she has been repeatedly woken up by the woman downstairs.
Deputy Murray arrested and released Butela on suspicion of assault. Police told both neighbors to avoid each other and call if there is another problem.
Sex Prowler
University Area, Sept. 12, 9:30 a.m.
Officers received two complaints about a man harassing female students by grabbing his groin and propositioning them for sex, a University of Arizona Police Department report stated.
Two students told police they were walking toward an underpass when the man yelled lewd sexual comments at them from above. Both women left the area after hearing the man's comments.
One of the students saw the man three hours later when she walked by the same area. The man approached her while grabbing his crotch and demanded oral sex, the report stated.
When the student took out her cell phone, the man walked away.
Another female student reportedly saw a man who matched the description of the previous suspect in the same area of campus. She told police he unzipped his pants and demanded sex.
Police have no suspects, but some of the students involved said they're willing to press charges if the man is found.
Road Rage
North Kolb Road and East Sunrise Drive, Sept. 2, 8:27 a.m.
According to a Pima County Sheriff's Department report, a Tucson woman was stopped at an intersection when someone shot a pellet or a low-powered gun at her gas tank.
She said she heard a loud noise, but thought it was a car backfiring.
When she got home, she noticed a 3-inch dent just above the gas tank and called the police.
