A mother called deputies after two males in a van repeatedly flashed pornographic magazines at her 14-year-old daughter, a report from the Pima County Sheriff's Department said.
The mother claimed to recognize the van and its occupants as they drove by, sporting pornographic pictures, as well as hollering and whistling at her daughter, who was doing yard work. On a second pass, she reportedly said they also lobbed a wadded-up porno picture at her.
The mother showed the deputy surveillance footage of the incident. She also provided him with the address of the two males, saying her daughter has had previous problems with them.
The deputy reportedly found a matching van parked in front of the suspects' address, with pornographic magazines clearly visible all over the interior.
After several attempts to get someone at the door, the report said, a woman--who had just arrived home--brought the males outside. According to the deputy, one of the suspects asked if this had anything to do with littering.
After repeated questioning, the deputy said, one man admitted throwing something out the window near the girl's home. Then, the other male, a minor, reportedly admitted showing pictures to a girl he knew as they drove by her house.
After being placed in the deputy's patrol car, the report said, the man spontaneously asked, "I know you're just trying to do your job, but is there any way I can just write them a letter apologizing to them?"
The deputy cited the minor for disorderly conduct and released him into the custody of his mother. The man was cited for the same charge, and then released on his own recognizance.
Is There a Howard Johnson in Heaven?
West Congress Street and Interstate 10, June 6, 1:36 a.m.
According to a University of Arizona Police Department report, an off-duty officer encountered a woman running backwards who said she was trying to find a Howard Johnson hotel.
The officer said he was traveling southbound on Frontage Road west of Interstate 10 when a woman running backwards fell into the street. He got out of his car as she pulled herself over to the sidewalk, the report said.
When the officer told her he was trying to help her, the woman reportedly turned her arms, gazed skyward and started running backwards. The report said she stumbled and struck her head on the sidewalk.
The woman indicated she was trying to get to a Howard Johnson after being released from Carondelet St. Mary's Hospital, 1601 W. St. Mary's Road, according to the UAPD policeman.
A Tucson Police Department officer arrived, placed the woman in his patrol car and drove away after receiving a call from his UAPD colleague.

A Tucson man believes his mailbox was destroyed by a shopping cart flung at it by a passing vehicle, a PCSD report said.
The man told a PCSD telephone operator that both he and his neighbor's mailboxes were smashed by a red Safeway shopping cart.
He said it appeared as if someone was driving an automobile while holding the cart. Then, the perpetrator let go to send it flying at the mailboxes.
There were no suspects at the time of the report.
