The Most Expensive Bunk Grass

Nov. 2, 12:35 p.m.

A real estate agent found out one of the houses she'd been trying to sell had been burglarized—at least, the property had been burglarized—in a very odd way: a large swath of fake grass had been stolen from the yard, a PCSD report stated.

The reportee told deputies by phone two days earlier, she and her husband had been checking on a house she was selling for a client when they saw, in the backyard, a big chunk (but not all) of the artificial grass formerly installed there had been neatly lifted away and was now missing.

She estimated about 700 square feet of fake grass had been stolen, worth a whopping $7,000-$10,000. She had no leads on a suspect.
