This week: Polite breaking and entering and two men fighting over a cane

GOLDILOCKS WITH A BEARD

WEST TUMACACORI DRIVE, GREEN VALLEY

JULY 14, 12:30 A.M.

A tidy and relatively respectful (but creepy) intruder played Goldilocks with the food and facilities of a trusting homeowner's family, according to a Pima County Sheriff's Department report.

A deputy responded to a call from a home where the head of the household said he had found most of the lights turned on when he arrived, meaning that someone had been there while he, his daughter and his girlfriend had been away.

Neither their television nor a PlayStation 3 had been stolen, although someone had apparently used them. Someone had also eaten a meal at the house (and cleaned up the dishes).

The homeowner showed the deputy his daughter's bedroom, where someone had rifled through her clothes. The same thing also happened in the master bedroom, but nothing appeared to have been taken from either room.

Someone had also used the man's shaving equipment, and wiped down the sink, and the bathtub in one of the bathrooms had been filled.

There was no evidence of forced entry into the home, but the homeowner told the deputy that he usually left a side door unlocked because he is "just trusting" and "grew up that way."

The homeowner agreed to start locking all of his doors and to call deputies if someone entered his home illegally again.

AT LEAST THEY DIDN'T DRINK AND DRIVE

NORTH INA ROAD

JUNE 26, 2:58 P.M.

Two middle-aged men fought over a cane at a bus stop while consuming an alcoholic beverage in an unconventional way, a PCSD report stated.

A deputy on patrol near Ina and Shannon roads responded to a call about an altercation at a nearby bus stop that involved a cane. He soon located a cane-carrying pedestrian who admitted to "kind of" fighting in public. The man said his friend had become mad when he wouldn't give him bus money, and the two had started pushing each other. The man said his friend then poured a bottle of Mike's Hard Lemonade over him. (The deputy reported that the man reeked of alcohol and an empty Mike's bottle was found nearby.)

Another deputy located the friend, who was still at the bus stop, and who denied fighting. Both men were arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct.
