Re: “Mailbag

Bravo Steve Farley. Devine and McKasson had to sift pretty low through the garbage can to find someone who would talk down on street car projects. Just like you said Steve, they have a great track record at revitalizing communities and are a tool for Smart Growth in Tucson. It baffles me that the Tucson Weekly would take this much time to bash one of the few alternative transportation mode projects that the Regional Transportation Authority and the City of Tucson will be producing. Why not question the rationale for road widening in the urban core which is costs more than $30 million per mile. Do those projects really do anything for the betterment of the community? Or are they just making it a little bit faster if you are one of those who have to drive cross town a lot?
