DreamWorks Animation satirizes suburbia and its SUV fetish, cell-phone addiction and cookie-cutter perfection through the eyes of eclectic furry little critters in this whimsical film by co-directors Tim Johnson and Karey Kirkpatrick. After the always-cunning and conniving raccoon, RJ (Bruce Willis), becomes indebted to a ravenous and intimidating bear (Nick Nolte) for a wagonload of treats, the raccoon heads to the suburbs where an endless supply of carbs, calories and cholesterol awaits. Along the way, RJ meets a quirky family of forest creatures that he sweet-talks into crossing the titular leafy boundary in order to collect savory snacks. However, an authoritarian homeowner (Allison Janney) and an overzealous exterminator (Thomas Hayden Church) arent going to make their mission easy. Theres enough to satisfy your appetite, but this light fare wont make you ask for more.
