Rated NR · 78 minutes · 1948

Stuart Schulberg’s horrifying 1948 documentary is fully restored—and often very hard to watch. It documents the trial of 22 Nazi officials, a trial that would become the blueprint for future war-crime trials. The film shows some of the courtroom arguments and the fidgeting villains sitting in their designated area. (It’s shocking to see these men in this setting.) It also shows footage of genocide and devastation that the Nazis themselves shot for propaganda use. Actor Liev Schreiber provides a new voiceover.
Director: Stuart Schulberg
Producer: Budd Schulberg, Stuart Schulberg, Pare Lorentz and David Stein
