Catch a free screening of the award-winning documentary Dreamcatcher at The Loft (3233 E. Speedway Blvd.) this Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 7 p.m. The film chronicles the life of Brenda Myers-Powell, an activist and ex-teenage prostitute as she strives for change in the black-market sex industry and fights for protection from sexual violence on the streets of Chicago. The film paints a picture of the everyday hostility that afflicts young women in the sex-trade and their families. Both Myers-Powell and the director Kim Longinotto will be present to participate in post-film dialogue with the audience. For more details, go to www.loftcinema.com
