OUT OF THE ASHES

Guadalajara Original Grill, the one on 1220 E. Prince Road, will be re-opening on November 19th with a Grand Re-Opening on Friday, Nov. 21 following renovations to repair major fire damage. Emma Vera, owner and manager of Guadalajara Original Grill, gave thanks for the support during their time of closure and expressed excitement about the improvements that the renovations allowed for. I am told the improvements include a larger, more comfortable bar, and some amazing new artwork on the walls. On their grand re-opening night, the folks at GOG will be providing live music, entertainment and drink and dinner specials all night long. The folks behind Jackson Tavern, the latest Metzger Family Restaurant concept, has announced their inaugural menu and grand opening date. The "modern expression of classic New England cuisine and culture" will be opening on December 1st at 2900 N. Swan Road, in Plaza Palomino. Owner Brian Metzger and Executive Chef Virginia "Ginny" Wooters, are fresh off a tour of the Atlantic Coast (look for the article about their trip on The Range) and have put together a seafood centered menu that looks like a fun and exciting take on New England style cuisine, with the signature Metzger touch. Highlights of the new menu include seasonal oysters, C Dogs (think, lobster corn dog), Narragansett stew, and turf dishes as well such as pork schnitzel, and a potato skin poutine. Or better yet for a sneak peak at the direct Jackson is going, make reservations for the next supper club at Poppy Kitchen on November 18, where much of the menu will preview Jackson's fare.

GO EAT OUT, YOU TURKEYS!

If you are not a fan of doing a lot of dishes while your drunk uncle naps on your couch and the overly dramatic aunt weeps in her wine glass, maybe a great Thanksgiving dinner at a local restaurant is your solution!
