Tasting Tucson

Agustín Kitchen and Slow Food Southern Arizona present the second annual Local Food and Beverage Tasting on April 27th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Agustín Kitchen, 100 S. Avenida Del Convento, with live music, raffles and giveaways, plus tastings from some of the best local supporters in Southern Arizona, including Acacia Real Food & Cocktails, Agustín Kitchen, Pasco Kitchen & Lounge, Proper, Prep & Pastry, and Zona 78. And local libations from Arizona Stronghold Vineyards, Callaghan Vineyards, Dos Cabezas WineWorks, Pillsbury Wine Co., Borderlands Brewing Co., Dragoon Brewing Co., Ten55 Brewing and Old Bisbee Brewing Co. The fun takes place on the UA's main campus and features an evening of cultural performances, music, traditional island cuisine, raffle prizes, and more. Alfonso Gourmet Olive Oil (www.alfonsooliveoil.com) and Blu, a Wine & Cheese Stop (www.blutucson.com) are having monthly tastings of five distinct pairings of unique cheeses, sparkling wines, olive oils and balsamics. Alfonso owners Tom and Nancy Alfonso, and Blu owner Tana Fryer guide the tastings and answer questions about their products at each event. Attendees also receive a 10 percent discount on select items on the day of the tasting. The next one is Wednesday, April 23 at the Alfonso Oro Valley store located on the southeast corner of Oracle and Magee roads. All events take place from 7 to 9 p.m. and the cost is $25.
