Noshing Around

Your exclusive home for Mercado San Agustin food news this week

Mercado San Agustin News #1

This section is definitely not sponsored by Mercado San Agustin, but there just happens to be quite a bit of news coming from the Westside gathering point, so here goes. As previously mentioned in this space, Seis Kitchen and Catering has found a permanent wheel-free location at the Mercado. Now open, the new space is adding four breakfast burrito options to the menu you're familiar with from their food truck days, plus they have a kids menu, which is helpful for anyone who cringes at buying a full plate of food for a child that might touch half of what you paid full price for. This might be my own personal issue, however. Check out the menu and the new location's hours at seiskitchen.com.

Mercado San Agustin News #2

You might want to take a break from reading this scintillating roundup of local (hyper-local this week, apparently) food news to go get tickets for I Amor Tucson, an event on April 12 by And Be Merry Supper Clubs (there's a more fancified way they stylize their name, but we ran out of ellipses somewhere near the end of David Mendez's article this week) and the Tucson CSA. You and 99 of your closest friends can enjoy a local-foods-focused dinner followed by music from the always delightful Naim Amor and friends. Tickets are a shocking affordable $20, so they won't be around for long. Check out www.facebook.com/IAMORTUCSON for more information.

The Last One I Promise

Speaking of events with delicious food and limited tickets, Agustín Kitchen is hosting the 2014 Local F&B Tasting Event on April 27 from 5 to 7 p.m. For $35 a person (with proceeds going to Slow Food Southern Arizona), you'll have the opportunity to taste the wares of four local breweries, four local wineries and six (wait for it) local restaurants, including Acacia, Pasco, Proper and Prep & Pastry. Raffle tickets will also be available for $5 for a prize which includes gift cards, dinners and tastings from a bunch of delicious places. More info at agustinkitchen.com.

A Reminder

Best of Tucson® voting is going on right now, with a stack of new food-related categories for your enjoyment. The ballot is online at tucsonweekly.com/BOT. Tell your friends.
