Four Corners Festival

Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance presents the Four Corners Festival on Nov. 16 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and 17 (11 a.m. to 4 p.m.). The festivities take place at all "four corners" of Skyline and Campbell which is well known as one of Tucson's most foodie-friendly hot spots. The two-day festival will be laden with a richly diverse collection of fashion, boutiques, galleries, jewelers, sculptors, artists and most importantly, food! The event itself is free, but you can pick up a food tasting ticket for $20. For more information visit: www.saaca.org/Four_Corners_Festival.html.

Beer Garden Dinner

Loews Ventana Canyon, 7000 N. Resort Drive., is hosting a beer and barbecue dinner, Saturday, Nov. 23 at 6:30 p.m. The Flying V and Dragoon Brewery team up to provide a lovely four course, upscale barbecue dinner (even prepared with herbs grown on site), each paired with one of Dragoon's signature brews. Executive Chef Ken Harvey and Dragoon Brewing Company's brewmaster Eric Greene will put on an undoubtedly entertaining and interactive demonstration. For more information contact Loews: 299-2020.

Whiskey at Acacia

For those who like their pairings a bit stiffer, Acacia Real Food & Cocktails is throwing "The Great Kentucky Whiskey Dinner" on Thursday, Nov. 14, 6 to 9 p.m. The multi-course meal will feature Kentucky whiskey (one of my favorite fall beverages) based cocktails specifically created to pair with each dish, and a guided whiskey tasting will follow dinner. I have browsed the menu (which includes crispy veal sweetbreads, flank steak and a very enticing dessert) and can tell you it is as mouth-watering as the whiskey. Reservations are a must and a credit card deposit is required. Call 232-0101.

The company's flagship shop, Blu: A Wine & Cheese Stop, will open at The Mercado San Agustin this winter. The Mercado location will feature a Wine Bar offering cheese boards and gourmet sandwiches, as well as a retail shop carrying cheese, charcuterie, wine and beer. A third Blu location will open in Oro Valley in February 2014.
