RA Sushi Responds to Tragedy

RA Sushi is hosting a two-day fundraiser for the families of the 19 members of the Granite Mountain Hotshots who died fighting the Yarnell Hill wildfire. On Friday and Saturday, July 12 and 13, all six RA Sushi locations in Arizona will donate 100 percent of their profits to a memorial fund started by the 100 Club of Arizona. Profits from dine-in food items, beverages and alcohol will be included as well as profits from take-out orders. The Tucson RA Sushi is in La Encantada, at Campbell Avenue and Sunrise Drive.


July Beer Dinners

On Sunday, July 21, Pasco Kitchen and Lounge will host a four-course beer dinner, with three of the four beers brewed in Tucson. Beers from Dragoon Brewing, Borderlands Brewing and Ten 55 Brewing, as well as beer from Colorado's Ska Brewing, will be paired with dishes by Pasco chef Ramiro Scavo. The cost is $55, and dinner begins at 6 p.m. Call 882-8013 for reservations.

The Most Interesting Beer Dinner in the World is coming. David Torkko, beverage manager at Hotel Congress, has paired a variety of top-rated beers with a four-course meal from the Cup Café on Saturday, July 27. The cost is $50. You can check out the menu and buy tickets at hotelcongress.com.


Bad Luck for a Downtown Restaurant

Enoteca Pizzeria and Wine Bar, 58 W. Congress St., has closed. Owner Rick Sabbagh said the streetcar construction downtown was the primary cause of the closure. The final blow was the loss of power to several downtown businesses on June 14, which caused the restaurant to lose its inventory. It never reopened.


Fire Closes Rincon Market

The popular Rincon Market could be closed for two to six months following a fire on July 2. Market owner Ron Abbott said he and his son noticed smoke coming from the roof area and called 911 as employees and customers were evacuated from the building at 2513 E. Sixth St. Patrons at the neighboring Bob Dobbs restaurant, two salons and a jewelry store also were evacuated.
