Tip-a-Cop Night
Teaming up with representatives from local law-enforcement agencies and the Arizona Highway Patrol, Claim Jumper will host Tip-a-Cop Night to benefit the Special Olympics from 5 to 9 p.m., Thursday, April 24. Uniformed officers and deputies will work alongside Claim Jumper's wait staff to earn tips by tackling tasks such as greeting guests, serving drinks, taking orders and cleaning tables. The restaurant chain's annual event helped law-enforcement teams raise more than $150,000 last year. Locally, you can participate this year at 3761 E. Broadway Blvd.; 795-2900.
Pie Party
The sixth annual pie party benefiting Earth First! Journal happens Sunday, April 27, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the Dunbar School Auditorium, 325 W. Second St. With more than 150 vegan pies to choose from, you can get pie-eyed for $3 per slice. Sample gluten-free, raw and sugar-free pies, too.
