New: Shlomo and Vito's New York Delicatessen

For everyone who has been craving a deli: It has arrived in the foothills, at Plaza Colonial, across the street from La Encantada. I dropped by a few days after they opened and peeked inside to look at the menu--and there was already a wait during lunch. The menu is a mile long and boasts all kinds of things ex-New Yorkers only dream about, at 2870 E. Skyline Drive; 577-4584.

New: Sushi Garden North

The popular Sushi Garden recently opened a second location in the Foothills Mall at 7401 N. La Cholla Blvd., Suite 312; 877-8744. J Nippon was formerly at that address.

New: Tatsu Sushi

Tatsu Sushi recently opened in the space formerly known as Bowz Sushi at 7332 N. Oracle Road; 219-6989. It is owned by Golden Dragon restaurants.

Top 100 Chinese Restaurants

Dragon Village was recently named one of the Top 100 Chinese restaurants in the United States. The award aims to present the very best of Chinese cuisine, which has become a part of America's daily dining scene. According to the Web site top100.c-r-n.com, the Chinese restaurant industry has more than $17.5 billion in annual sales, and includes 43,139 Chinese restaurants in the United States--more than the total number of McDonald's (more than 13,000), Burger King (11,000+) and Wendy's (6,900+) stores combined. Dragon Village is located at 12152 N. Rancho Vistoso Blvd., No. 180, in Oro Valley; 229-0388; dragonvillagerestaurant.com.
