Fifth Annual All-You- Can-Eat-Pie Benefit

The good people at Earth First! Journal host a pie party fundraiser on Sunday, April 8, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Dunbar School auditorium, 325 W. Second St. (at Main). The cost is $7-$10, based on a sliding scale. More than 100 vegan pies will be featured in every imaginable flavor. There are pies for the entire family, including Passover-friendly pies, gluten-free, raw and sugar-free options. Pies are available to take home, for auction and as raffle prizes; the pie's the limit! For more information, call 620-6900.

Easter Dining

Chef Gino Marinelli of Roma Caffé will offer a brunch buffet from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Easter Sunday. The menu includes smoked ham, roasted pork tenderloin and leg of lamb, hot and cold pasta dishes, an omelet station, fresh fruit, desserts and more. Chef Marinelli will even whip up your very own pasta creation. Brunch costs $26.95 for adults, $7.95 for kids, free for children 5 and under. Reservations are recommended at 744-2929; 4140 W. You Say Tomato, I Say Campari

All the tomatoes at Eurofresh Farms in Willcox are vine-ripened, unwaxed, free of genetic modification and pesticides. Last year, Eurofresh grew 170 million pounds of tomatoes. I recently tasted a campari tomato, which was like biting into tomato nirvana. You can find campari tomatoes at Sprouts, Albertsons and Safeway. 58 Degrees--the Sequel

Bar 58 & Bistro (part of 58 Degrees and Holding Co.) recently opened its second Tucson location at St. Philip's Plaza, serving sandwiches and small plates of food. The menu has some unusual dishes with ingredients that might require a culinary glossary but are definitely an example of intriguing dining, plus a dessert called "March of the Penguins." Wine can be purchased by the 3-ounce taste, 6-ounce glass and bottle at 4280 N. Campbell Ave.; 299-5804.
