Noshing Around

Benefit for St. Jude

Mark your calendars! From May 29 to June 4, RA Sushi will host a week-long fundraising effort. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the sale of all spicy tuna rolls, edamame and Skyy vodka drinks will benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. RA is located at 2905 E. Skyline Drive; 615-3970.

In 1992, John Husson, from Sierra Vista, was diagnosed with a large cancerous tumor in his lung. St. Jude Hospital provided chemotherapy and a complicated surgery to remove his tumor. Today, he is cancer-free and in the ninth grade. Join John and his parents at the silent auction ending the week-long event on Saturday, June 4, from 5-11 p.m. RA's goal is to raise $75,000 at its eight locations. Please support this worthy cause.

Texas Roadhouse

Newly open at Interstate 10 and Cortaro Farms Road, Texas Roadhouse got its start in Clarksville, Indiana (go figure) and has 200 locations in 37 states. It's now open daily from 11 a.m. on weekends and 4 p.m. weekdays; 579-3855. Another Texas Roadhouse will open on Wilmot Road, south of Broadway Boulevard, in August.

Reap the culinary rewards when professional and apprentice chefs prepare a five-course dinner paired with Heck Estates wines for a good cause on Wednesday, June 1, at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $100 per person and benefits Primavera Foundation. RSVP at 325-3333. Pastiche is located at 3025 N. Campbell Ave.
