Pleased to Meat You

Opening April 1 (no joke) in the northwest part of Tucson is Texas T-Bone Steaks, serving 19 different cuts of meat ranging from 6 ounces to 64 ounces in size. T-Bone is locally owned by three guys who like restaurants--Steven Baldwin, Mike Arino and Phil Hochevar--who also own the original T-Bone at 8981 E. Tanque Verde Road. Last year, they donated $64,000 to children's charities. Baldwin points out that T-Bone has always offered a low-carb menu, and he wants Tucsonans to know that the new location has a full bar and a 15-by-10-foot high-definition television. The new T-Bone is open daily from 11 a.m., at 8310 N. Thornydale Road, 572-5968.

Viva Veggie!

The 2004 edition of the Tucson Vegetarian Restaurant Guide is now available from the Vegetarian Resource Group, a nonprofit educational organization. The 28-page booklet lists restaurants, grocery stores and caterers/personal chefs offering vegetarian fare. To get a copy, send a check for $2.60 to VRGT, P.O. Box 91464, Tucson, AZ 85752. For more information, visit vrgt.org or call 682-0075.

Mexican Buffet

La India Bonita--new to the eastside--serves lunch and dinner buffets ($5.99-6.99) in a colorful, cavernous setting. Open daily from 11 a.m. at 2544 S. Kolb Road, 747-0561.

In Your Easter Bonnet

The Westward Look Resort starts with a 6 a.m. sunrise service on the rooftop terrace of the new Sonoran Ballroom. For the kids: a free Easter egg hunt with the big bunny at 9:30 a.m. Enjoy casual breakfasts at the Lookout Bar & Grille, a jazz brunch buffet in the Sonoran Ballroom, or three-course dining in the newly appointed Gold Room. Reservations are recommended. For information or reservations, call 297-1151, ext. 610.

Matzo Meal

Though we couldn't find any restaurants holding Passover seders, Cuvée World Bistro has a private room for personal seders and will be happy to discuss a menu. The Feast Tasteful Takeout offers

Passover selections to go, so order early.
