Catalina in the Tropics

Restaurant Pura Vida announces Coco Loco, serving up tropical drinks and live music, dancing and candlelight two Fridays a month. Check out the boogies, ballads, bossa novas and blues on Jan. 16 and 30. Jimmy Johns Debuts

Tucson resident and UA graduate Christopher Wright is opening the first local Jimmy Johns Gourmet Sandwich Shop franchise with a benefit for Tu Nidito. During the celebration, the lunch bunch and night owls can enjoy inexpensive subs and drinks for 92 cents and 50 cents. Mad Cow and Englishmen

Fear of mad cow disease has not put a kibosh on Tucsonans' appetite for beef. McGraw's Steakhouse & Cantina and Chad's Steakhouse both report that it's business as usual.

Ka-ching for Chang's

Revenues for P.F. Chang's China Bistro increased 31 percent to $151.3 million for the fourth quarter of 2003, up from $115.9 million in the same quarter of 2002. P.F. Chang's accounted for $134.6 million, while fast-casual sister franchise Pei Wei Asian Diner accounted for $16.7 million of the consolidated revenues.
