Noshing Around

Pop-up Sanar returns to Acacia

NOW THAT'S A-SPICY-A SUMMA

Tavolino Ristorante Italiano, 2890 E. Skyline Drive, is offering a few summer promotions that should want to get you out of your AC cave, including a three-course meal for just $20.14 per person that includes an ensalata mista, a choice of lasagna, spaghetti pomodoro or chicken cacciatori, and a scoop of house made gelato or sorbet for dessert. They also have half-off bottles of wine every Saturday and Sunday between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. (Love some day-wine drinking!) As if that weren't enough reason to mangia, they have live music every weekend Friday through Sunday. For more information visit their website at tavolinotucson.com.

POP GOES THE RESTAURANT

Awesome-sauce, pop-up restaurant Sanar is poppin' up again with their second dinner at Acacia (3001 E. Skyline Drive) July 13 at 7:30 p.m. As always, you can expect a whole lot of courses and drinks to match from masterminds Brian Smith and Dave Valencia. This time they are having a 12-course progressive Southwestern tasting menu with pairings at $85 per person. You can RSVP at sanarrestaurant@gmail.com or visit

www.sanarfood.com to view menus, bios, and more.

WINE DINNERS AND TOUR

Maynards Market and Kitchen is kicking off their annual Summer Wine Tour, with the first dinner of the summer on Friday, June 27 pairing wines with a Spanish inspired four-course menu. Over the hot season, they will also be "visiting" such places as Sicily (home sweet home), Australia and Arizona! Cost for the booze and four-courses is $55 per person. You can also just do a wine tasting for $10 including wines from even more regions. For more information or complete itinerary, browse on over to maynardstucson.com.

BAYOU BOILIN'

Bear Track Winery, 4743 E. Sunrise Drive, is hosting its Crawfish Boil Dinner, Friday June 27 at 6 p.m and last I heard, there were still a few spots left. They are bringing in fresh mudbugs from Louisiana for the traditional Louisiana crawfish boil that features corn on the cob, hot sausage and potatoes (don't forget the hot sauce!). You also get a glass of the winery's house wine or a draft beer. Cost is $35 per person. Call 975-0050 to make your reservation.

SHOUT OUT

To Tap & Bottle, 403 N. Sixth Ave, for celebrating their one-year anniversary on June 20! Cheers to many more years of bringing us those delicious glasses (and bottles) of beer and wine!
