Iron Chef Tucson

Ramiro Scavo, executive chef of Zona 78, Harvest and Hacienda del Sol, won the 2009 Iron Chef Tucson competition held Sunday, Jan. 18, at Desert Diamond Casino. Scavo beat former champion Albert Hall, owner/chef at Acacia at St. Philips, to take the title. Scavo said he sealed his victory by using bison meat--the contest's secret ingredient--to create his versions of biscuits-and-gravy and albondigas. Congratulations, Iron Chef Scavo!
