Terra Cotta Farewell Dinner
Your last chance to dip into a bowl of Terra Cotta's tortilla soup is Friday and Saturday, Jan. 30 and 31, when the eatery throws a farewell dinner featuring entreés made famous during the eatery's 22 years in operation. Terra Cotta classics such as goat-cheese-stuffed prawns, chile-and-sage-rubbed salmon and a stuffed poblano relleno platter are on the prix-fixe menu, as are garlic custard, shrimp flautas and several decadent desserts. $40, plus tax and gratuity. Marana's Ritz-Carlton Golf Club at Dove Mountain (6501 Boulder Bridge Pass) has a new restaurant named Cayton's, taking the name from Eugene "Cush" Cayton, a homesteader who settled the area back in the 1920s. The eatery serves "American comfort cuisine with Southwestern flair," according to a press release, and is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. The Girls Scouts put out a press release this week announcing that their cookies are not affected by the peanut-butter recall sweeping the nation due to a salmonella outbreak. Cookies are still available by putting in an order with your local Girl Scout or visiting the Cookie Web site.
