Laferlita Pizza

Former New Yorker Robert Laferlita brings Neapolitan-style (thin and crisp) pizza to Sam Hughes Place starting this week. Laferlita Pizza is located at 446 N. Campbell Ave. (at the southeast corner of Sixth Street and Campbell); 867-8145. Menu items include salads, antipasto, panini sandwiches, chicken wings, cappuccino and a full bar. Slow Food, BBQ-Style

Looking for something to do this weekend? On Saturday, July 2, join fellow foodies at Art's BBQ for a down-home feast of fried catfish, hot links, BBQ spareribs, North Carolina shredded pork, coleslaw, potato salad, hush puppies, collard greens, sweet mint tea, lemonade, peach cobbler and ice cream. Art and his wife, Vel, will reveal the secrets of barbeque at 450 N. Main Avenue, at 5:30 p.m. The cost is $30 per person. Call Barry Infuso at 290-1355 to reserve your space.

Hosting your own bash? Art's picnic party pack--featuring two racks of spareribs, BBQ sauce, potato salad, coleslaw and rolls--will feed eight to 10 adults for $65. Fifth of July Celebration

Terra Cotta celebrates its 19th anniversary and the Fourth of July on Tuesday, July 5, from 6 to 9 p.m. with complimentary hot dogs, bratwurst, burgers, side dishes, nonalcoholic beverages and the intriguing chocolate fountain. Imbibe at the no-host bar and meet the Rural Metro Fire Department, which spent July 5, 2004, at Terra Cotta extinguishing a major fire; 3500 E. Sunrise Drive; 577-8100.
