Kids, families and Tucson's Birthday volunteers and organizers close out the month honoring all our ancestors beginning at 6:15 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 31. Prizes are awarded for the flashlight decorated to best represent an individual's personal heritage. Participants share their own Tucson stories along the Santa Cruz River Trail's east bank. Gayle Hartmann of the Santa Cruz River Valley Heritage Foundation is available to answer questions about the 4500-year history of community at the site of the walk. Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona are special guests. Free. Call 327-7544 for reservations. RSVP is required so notice can be given if the time or place changes. Bring water and an umbrella.
