Nine Questions

Nylon Pink

The self proclaimed "only all-Asian American female band in the United States," Nylon Pink were special guests at this year's local Anime/Manga pop culture convention Con-Nichwa. When lead singer Kaila Yu and bassist Katt Lee aren't covering Anime theme songs at conventions, the ladies are designing clothes, organizing parties in L.A., graphic design, modeling and shipping cutesy Ninja Crate boxes. The boxes contain goodies like ninja poo necklaces and unicorn poop chapstick. The band plans on debuting a new LP in the near future.

What was the first concert you attended?

Katt: AFI. My friend and I snuck out of the house and drove out to Berkeley to go watch them!

What are you listening to these days?

Kaila & Katt: Muse and the new Sleigh Bells.

What was the first album you owned?

Katt: The first album I've owned was Appetite for Destruction by Guns N' Roses!

What artist, genre or musical trend does everyone seem to love, but you just don't get?

Katt: I can't say I hate any trend or artist because I feel as if there's always something good in the music. If somebody is expressing themselves through any form you can't knock them down.

What musical act, current or defunct, would you most like to see perform live?

Katt: I would love to have seen Guns N' Roses (the old line up) live.

What is your favorite guilty pleasure?

Kaila: Buffet dinners and kittens.

What song would you like to have played at your funeral?

Kaila: I don't believe in funerals, so pointless!

What artist changed your life and how?

Kaila: Guns N' Roses.

Figurative gun to your head, what is your favorite album of all time?

Kaila & Katt: Guns N' Roses - Appetite for Destruction.
