Nine Questions

Chuck George

KOLD Channel 13 meteorologist Chuck George holds a master's degree in engineering/water resources and a bachelor's degree in meteorology. He moved to Tucson to attend graduate school, and like many other UA students, he fell in love with the Sonoran Desert and Tucson. George is also an adjunct faculty member at Pima Community College, where he started the Archimedes Scholarship Fund to encourage students to explore careers in science and engineering. His PCC salary is going entirely to the fund, acting as seed money that he hopes will grow into a self-sustaining entity that will provide scholarships to students who fall in the gap between those who receive financial aid and those who can afford college on their own.

What was the first concert you ever saw?

George Strait.

What are you listening to these days?

I just downloaded Maroon 5, and Tchaikovsky's "Waltz of the Snowflakes."

What was the first album you owned?

Probably ABBA.

What artist, genre or musical trend does everyone seem to love, but you just don't get?

Bieber! Also, new country.

What musical act, current or defunct, would you most like to see perform live?

Babs Streisand and Gaga.

Musically speaking, what is your favorite guilty pleasure?

Watercolors channel on Sirius Satellite: "smooth and cool—a sophisticated landscape of contemporary jazz."

The Weather Girls, "It's Raining Men."

That's pretty dramatic. I think Wham! did it.

Figurative gun to your head, what is your favorite album of all time?

Don't laugh! Oh, OK, go ahead. I would! It is: Ladies and Gentlemen: The Best of George Michael.
