Nine Questions

Detroit transplant Jake Bergeron is the owner of Mudhouse Records, which specializes in putting out local music on vinyl. So far, the label has released works by the Beta Sweat, the Deludes and Tom Walbank. Mudhouse recently released the vinyl version of Golden Boots' Winter of Our Discotheque, which will be feted on Saturday, March 28, at Hotel Congress. Bergeron is currently drumming for the band Blackwood and Co. and filling in for pretty much anyone who asks.

What was the first concert you ever saw?

I've never really seen a live show before, though I do plan on attending the upcoming Candlebox concert.

What CDs are in your changer right now?

Nickelback, Creed, Crazy Town, Fall Out Boy, Puddle of Mudd, 30 Seconds to Mars.

How many total albums do you own (CDs, vinyl, cassettes, 8-tracks)?

Well, let's see. ... I have everything the Goo Goo Dolls and Insane Clown Posse ever did, so that's, like, seven CDs right there. Plus, I've got the Toby Keith single "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue" on vinyl.

Do you download music, and if so, legally or illegally?

I don't break laws.

What was the first album you owned?

Kriss Kross, Totally Krossed Out. I still rock it all the time.

What song would you like to have played at your funeral?

I want everyone to dance the Funky Chicken.

Musically speaking, what do you love that your friends don't know about? What's your favorite guilty pleasure?

This is super embarrassing, but I sometimes listen to Nick Cave, Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, Fugazi, Pixies, Pogues.

What band or artist changed your life, and how?

When I first saw Scott Stapp from Creed take his shirt off in the video for the song "Higher" and strike Jesus Christ pose after Jesus Christ pose, I was never the same.

Figurative gun to your head, what is your favorite album of all time?

Daughtry, Daughtry.
