Alice Cooper on the Billion Dollar Babies tour. It was an introduction to rock music for me.
What CDs are in your changer right now?
That's always a difficult question to answer. Honestly, I'm always writing music, so I'm listening to the project that I'm working on at the time. There's no room for (listening to more music) in my head. It really frustrates my wife and kids.
How many total albums do you own (CDs, vinyl, cassettes, 8-tracks)?
I must have 5,000, I guess. I just joined the technical revolution and put it all on my hard drive.
Do you download music, and if so, legally or illegally?
No, I don't usually download something. I go out and buy it if I need it. I would go to an Apple site (to download) if I needed to.
What was the first album you owned?
Jefferson Airplane, Surrealistic Pillow.
What song would you like to have played at your funeral?
Wow. ... I would think that a funeral is something that has a lot of different emotional aspects. I'd have several things; something like James Brown ("I Feel Good"), and I like a lot of classical music.
Musically speaking, what do you love that your friends don't know about? What's your favorite guilty pleasure?
I listen to everything musically (jazz, classical, country, early rock, all the different genres of rock music, electronica). I love opera. I have a vast array of musical styles that I listen to.
What band or artist changed your life, and how?
Music has been paramount in my life since I was 9 years old; it's hard to name one artist. There was such great pop music when I grew up in the '60s and '70s. I wasn't so restricted in my taste, unlike today's kids, who don't get that kind of diversity.
Figurative gun to your head, what is your favorite album of all time?
That's impossible to answer, because that would mean I would have to become a completely one-dimensional person.
