Nine Questions

Shaini Galloway is a local metal chick and musician who can pretty much play anything. Formerly an insider of the music business, Galloway used to work in promotions for both Roadrunner and Maverick Records. Galloway's biggest pet peeve: Getting hit on while browsing for CDs in the metal section of any local music store.

What was the first concert you ever saw?

Megadeth in Phoenix at America West Arena, with Corrosion of Conformity, on the Youthanasia tour. I snuck up to the show with a bunch of people I didn't know.

What CDs are in your changer right now?

I would be listening to Sepultura, Chaos A.D., but some tall jackass has it. The Mars Volta, Frances the Mute; Children of Bodom, Hate Crew Deathroll.

How many total albums do you own (CDs, vinyl, cassettes, 8-tracks)?

About 400.

Do you download music, and if so, legally or illegally?

(Sarcastic smirk) sometimes and sometimes--if I just want one song and don't want to buy the entire album.

What was the first album you owned?

Paula Abdul, Forever Your Girl, when I was 8. Then G N' R Lies was next.

What song would you like played at your funeral?

A Perfect Circle, Mer de Noms--the entire album!

Musically speaking, what do you love that your friends don't know about? What's your favorite guilty pleasure?

Ice Cube.

What band or artist changed your life, and how?

Guns N' Roses. That's what got met into heavy music and away from Paula Abdul.

Figurative gun to your head, what is your favorite album of all time?

I can narrow it down to U2, The Joshua Tree; all Pantera and Faith No More, AngelDust.
