The first big show was Stabbing Westward at Spring Fling, the night Kurt Cobain died. Every garment I wore was made of flannel.

My mother gave me two albums in second grade: Never Mind the Bollocks Here's the Sex Pistols and the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack; I don't know why she did that. Loved them both.

I honestly thought I would turn into Chrissie Hynde when I grew up. But I didn't, so I guess she didn't change my life at all.
