Jeff Imler was born in Altoona, Pa. He began a long and open relationship with punk drumming at the age of 8, which allowed him to pick up the guitar as a teenager, though he proudly declares he still hasn't "learned to play it as of 2013." A Tucson resident since 1996, Imler has played the drums for local bands Loudmouth Soup and Good Talk Russ, the latter of which are reuniting after several years of dormancy to play a one-off show at Plush on July 5, partly as a send-off and farewell to Imler who is leaving Tucson for an undisclosed location. Says Imler: "Thanks, Tucson, for all the friends, the shows and the laughs." Thank you, Jeff.

Bon Jovi in 1986.
What are you listening to these days?
Everyone else's iPods when they hang out for the night.
What was the first album you owned?
Michael Jackson, Thriller.
What artist, genre or musical trend does everyone seem to love that you just don't get?
Country music. Even though I found myself at Toby Keith's bar Saturday night for a friend's birthday. And a friend called it Kobe Teeth's bar, so that made it funny.
What musical act, current or defunct, would you most like to see perform live?
Malignus Youth, hands down.
Musically speaking, what is your favorite guilty pleasure?
I watched an entire Katy Perry set on Palladia ... mesmerizing.
What song would you like to have played at your funeral?
Something to make my friends laugh or dance. Either a montage of Space Ghost: Coast to Coast songs or Technotronic.
What band or artist has changed your life, and how?
All the bands, musicians and friends I've ever met or played with in Tucson. Every person has shaped my life in one form or another.

NOFX, Punk in Drublic.
