Nine Questions

Nathan Dryden is the store manager of a local comic book store. (Full disclosure: I am an employee of the same store.) You may also remember Nathan pulling off his best John Cusack impression at CD City and managing Captain Spiffy's Superhero Emporium in the past. Often hailed as an aerial dance specialist and master of trapeze, Nathan performs for the Zuzi!, Funhouse and NEW ARTiculations dance companies. Nathan also teaches dance around the country, including programs at the University of Washington this month.

What was the first concert you ever saw?

Fleetwood Mac, during the Tusk tour. ... I think it was at McKale Center. I was able to go because it was part of a friend's birthday party. It was also the first time I ever inhaled pot, but not by choice. The arena was filled with smoke!

What CDs are in your changer right now?

The Frames, Setlist; Mano Negra, In the Hell of Patchinko; TV on the Radio, Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes; The Last Call Brawlers, self-titled.

How many total albums do you own (CDs, vinyl, cassettes, 8-tracks)?

One and a half bookshelves of CDs, six milk crates of LPs and eight boxes of tapes.

Do you download music, and if so, legally?

My friend Carie downloaded Mr. Scruffy for me, but that's it.

What was the first album you owned?

The Muppets, Muppet Musicians of Bremen.

What song would you like played at your funeral?

"The Devil is My Friend" by The Jazz Butcher.

Musically speaking, what do you love that your friends don't know about? What are your guilty pleasures?

Kylie and Dani Minogue--I have a weakness for Australian female pop stars.

What band or artist changed your life, and how?

The Clash, 'nuff said.

Figurative gun to your head, what is your favorite album of all time?

Moody Blues, Days of Future Passed. Didn't expect that one, huh?
