Here at the Tucson Weekly, we are the kings (and queens) of all media. If you thought this fascinating wad of paper littering your neighborhood gutters was the limit of our operations, power up your home entertainment system.

Our contributors have an especially strong presence on the radio. Every Wednesday between 4 and 5 p.m., you can get a sneak preview of the next day's feature story on KXCI's Home Stretch program. If you'd tuned in on the Fourth of July, you would have heard Tim Vanderpool expounding for about 10 minutes on this week's cover article. Sometimes you'll hear mainly a synopsis of the story; on other occasions you might get some juicy tidbits about what the reporter went through to get you the story.

Then there's the beachhead we established on Emil Franzi's Inside Track show on KTKT. Columnist Tom Danehy is Franzi's sidekick every Friday at 1 p.m., and senior writer Jim Nintzel frequently brings some semblance of sanity to the political discussions on Wednesdays.

With all due respect to his fellow panelists, Nintzel is also the dominant figure on the Reporters' Roundtable segment of Arizona Illustrated, Fridays at 6:30 p.m. on KUAT-TV.

Some of us periodically show up live in your very presence, too, as members of local bands or as participants in art openings; even I do the occasional opera lecture and news-oriented panel discussion.

Best of all, the Weekly's Web site is about to get a major overhaul, with a new look, better navigation and penetrating new content. More on that incursion into your spare time when we unveil the revamped site a few weeks from now.
