Re: “Into the Lion's Den

Exegesis: an attempt to discover the meaning of a text (principal) objectively, starting with the text (principal) and moving out from there.

Eisegesis: to import a subjective, preconceived meaning into the text (principal).

journalism 101... you missed that class??

Could you have mentioned "the children" one more time?

Odd sermon?? exactly how many sermons have you attended?
Many? Few?
Case in point, either you hear what you want to, or reject what you don't want to hear.
(That's "progressive" right??)

It must have been scary in " the lion's den" ...

Reality: you showed up at "The Cool Church" hoping, expecting, desiring to be offended. Of course you wouldn't be disappointed...
What is your point?

Mine is this: I challenge you to examine EVERYTHING. The things that make you feel justified as well as the many things that make you feel uncomfortable.
Just the facts.
Just the truth.
If you are honest with yourself....
