Tucson Flamenco artist Mele Martinez with Luz Showcase and Tertulia Flamenca, present LUZ: a flamenco project honoring mothers who live and work as artists on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 5 to 7 p.m. at Unplugged Wine Bar (118 E. Congress St.). $10 suggested donation, but free with a drink purchase. LUZ was awarded a Tucson Pima Arts Council new works grant. Martinez, the mother of two, says dar a luz means to give birth.
