Re: “The Skinny

I suggest anyone who has been fooled by "Fairtax" great sounding hustles, as I was, google Fairtax fine print. The devil really is in the details.

See, the DETAILS are what matters -- not the great sounding promises. For example, the STATE government of AZ would owe 2 billion dollars, almost 1 billion dolllars in advance, per fairtax details. But they have never told any state about this candidly.

You might THINK Fairtax is a simple retail sales tax. That's the hustle. But the details are different -- less than half of Fairtax revenue would come from taxes on personal retail sales.

Fairtax is a "five tier" tax system -- and only one "tier" is about personal retail sales taxes. The STATE of AZ would owe under Fairtax, but also Tuscon City council would owe 2.4 million or more. WHy?

Because in the "details " Fairtax defines cities as "certain persons" and "certain employers' who must pay taxes on wages, pensions, and benefits.

Fairtax math is based on this -- that's how their math adds up. But they exactly say "WE TAX YOUR CITY YOUR COUTY AND YOUR STATE" -- Instead, they use defintions and deceptive "assumptions".

For example, read fairtax document "TAXING SALES". Coyly they write at one point that "we assume" city and states will "raise their tax rates appropriately" to cover these taxes. But they never explain or mention the taxes!

How much total do city and states have to pay? Well, over a trillion dollars. And no, it's NOT just taxes on retail sales. Fairtax defines "certain persons' as owning massively more taxes -- these "certain persons" have to pay taxes on wages, benefits, and pensions -- and virtually EVERYTHING else. Not just on retail sales -- try to grasp that.

Plus, if Tuscon builds anything -- a jail, a court house, or even OPERATES a jail or court house or highway dept, they have to pay taxes on that.

Fairtax has never told anyone this -- but their spokesmen will admit it, when pressed. As David Kendall said "Oh, we are just asking city and states to pay their fair share"

Asking? How is that asking? Since when is hiding goofy things in the your fine print called "asking".

Remember -- the personal retail sales tax of Fairtax, while it would be the largest in the world, is just a PART of Fairtax. But guess what Fairtax tells you about in their "examples".? They tell you about taxes on your lunch or a coat.

There is much much more to this hustle that I can put here. Google Fairtax fraud, Fairtax fine print, whatever.
