I had two great high school teachers back in the early 1960s who were very much like Corey Jones. They honestly discussed taboo subjects like communism, nuclear war, and religious bigotry. They were in constant trouble with administration. They also informed their students about the ludicrous political machinations going on in administration, who viewed students as incompetent morons who had to be shielded from any unpleasant truths or anything remotely controversial. It was clear to me that it was the administrators who were the incompetent morons. I'm sad to see that little has changed since the 1960s.
